Fall Family Fun
I love the fall season. It’s my favorite season. Light jackets, cute scarves and hats, and the pumpkin carving that goes with it. There are great activities happening during the fall season in your area that will have you ready to soak it up for all its worth before the dreaded Illinois winter arrives.
Saturday, October 25 from 1:00 pm -5:00 pm.
1072 Spring Hill Mall
West Dundee, IL 60118
This event has crafts, pumpkin decorating, a children’s costume contest, and mall trick or treating.
Open all of October: the hours are generally Monday – Sunday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm. (Check the site for specific hours throughout the fall season.)
42W813 Reinking Road
Hampshire, IL 60140
Their Fall Festival began in September, but runs through Halloween. The pumpkin patch is open as well, until the end of October. They have many attractions for all ages – from a corn stalk maze to pony rides to a petting zoo.
10:30 am – 4:00 pm
7000 Olson Road
Union, IL 60180
They have great attractions throughout the fall season including a Trick or Treat Trolley (October 25th and 26th), and a Halloween event called Terror on the Railroad (throughout most of October – see my other blog post about scary events for more details).
Sundays and Saturdays from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
601 Dundee Ave
East Dundee, IL 60118
They are only open on the weekends throughout the month of October, but they have many attractions at the park from rides, to a zoo, to great entertainment with live shows.
365 S La Fox St
South Elgin, IL 60177
Special event days are coming up with Pumpkin Trolley Weekends on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 and then the following Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26. All from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.
All of these events are centered around families to have fun during the fall season, but don’t hesitate to go with a group of friends as well. My college friends have visited Goebbert’s Family Pumpkin Patch and loved it. These events provide ways to make memories with the people you love – so grab them and visit one event this weekend!

I am a communications intern for EACVB. I really like being the “middle man” and finding a way to bridge the gap between people. I like exploring new cities, eating a good bowl of pasta, and having anything sweet for dessert – dessert is a must for me! Fall is my favorite season; the leaves changing color fascinate me. I love having deep, soulful conversations. Follow my posts on this blog to find out more about what I love to do in this area.
