The Haight is the Northwest Suburb's hidden gem! It's a unique private venue for weddings, elopements, civil unions, private parties and corporate/non-profit events. Housed in the former Elgin Livery & Storage warehouse, The Haight defines raw elegance. The architectural elements from this historic 1890 building include timber beams, exposed brick and soaring ceilings. All of which create a spacious yet cozy environment for guests to socialize.

Our private space includes two floors. Located in the heart of the City of Elgin less than 5 minutes from the Metra station. We are surrounded by historic neighborhoods, parks, the Grand Victoria Casino and so much more!

The Hemmens Cultural Center

Located in the Center City area along the banks of Elgin's award-winning Riverwalk, The Hemmens Cultural Center is the cornerstone of Elgin's growing arts community. This intimate 1,200-seat theatre is a favorite venue for seeing stars up close. Since 1969, audiences have been treated to such names as B. B. King, Bob Newhart, Phil Vassar, Garrison Keillor, Bill Cosby, The Ides of March, Blue Oyster Cult and many more. Attending a performance at The Hemmens is an experience not to be missed; clear sightlines and wide aisles provide an unparalleled concert and theatre-going experience where patrons get the sense of sitting in a luxury suite. Even the balcony's level of comfort and proximity to the stage rivals that of many other venues' 'club level seating'.

Triumph Community Bank is located on US 20 just West of Downtown Elgin.

The Elgin School District U-46 Planetarium began life as the Elgin National Watch Company Observatory. It was in 1959 that the Elgin National Watch Company donated its observatory to the Elgin U-46 School District.

The school district added a planetarium to the facility in 1963, making it the first school system in the state of Illinois to have its own planetarium. Since its opening in 1963, more than 700,000 school children have attended planetarium programs at the facility.

YWCA Elgin

The history of the YWCA is the history of progress in America.

Established in 1858 as a voice for women's issues, we opened the first employment bureau for women several years later. That was only the beginning of more than 150 years of active advocacy and programming for women's rights and civil rights.

We continue to evolve to meet today's challenges in eliminating racism and empowering women. We've shifted to a bottoms-up, grassroots structure. We've launched a revitalized brand that reaffirms the mission of working aggressively for women and people of color. And we're engaging women 18- to 34-years old to carry on the YWCA mission for years to come.

The YWCA advocacy issues reflect our mission and the values of our organization. We promote solutions to improve the lives of women, girls, and people of color across the country.

From lobbying for pay equity and hate crimes legislation to the increased funding for Head Start and the Violence Against Women Act, the YWCA advocates on Capitol Hill while employees and volunteers empower women and girls in our communities.
