Nichole Bear and Meg Heimbach- Summer 2017 Interns at the Elgin CVB
The CVB is excited to announce a packed one-two punch for the Summer of 2017.
South Elgin, IL native Nicole Bear, 19, is a Summer 2017 intern in the Marketing and Graphic Design department at the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. Bear is transferring to Loyola University in the Fall and hopes to continue her love for Graphic Design into creating pages for magazine companies. Bear is a Graphic Design major and is excited for the opportunity to grow in her major and promote the Elgin area.
Rockford, IL native Meghan Heimbach, 18 is also a Summer 2017 intern that is focusing in Marketing, Events, and Special Projects for the CVB and also for the City of Elgin splitting her time between the two. Heimbach is a recent graduate from Rockford Christian High School. She plans on continuing her education at Illinois State University this coming fall and major in Hospitality Communications and Event Planning.
In their roles at the EACVB, Bear and Heimbach will assist in creating and implementing a social media plan to help spread special events, projects, and promote tourism of Elgin to a wider audience. In addition, they will conduct research on social media advertising, welcome bags for incoming sports teams, community surveys, and helping the City of Elgin with their special projects. “We are very excited to welcome Nicole Bear and Meghan Heimbach to the Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to intern with us this summer. It is always so rewarding when you can work with and mentor rising stars within the travel and tourism industry. What an exciting opportunity to have them be a part of all that our Convention Bureau does in the way of events, tourism promotion and marketing and community relations here in the Elgin Area”, stated Kimberly Bless, President/CEO of the Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
